Some Unexpected Downtime

So Jack hurt his right front leg. A sprain. He went running. I thought he was with me but I fell asleep and he grabbed his opportunity. I noticed him limping on his right front leg a little while after he got back. He wouldn’t let me touch it and it was clearly swollen.

Concerned that it might have a fracture we went to Acute Pet Care in Beaverton, Ohio. They were very nice. Took x-rays and did a thorough examination. They used some sedation for the x-rays. Here’s a picture of Jack, just a little stoned.

Well, no fracture. But they said he needed downtime. Ten to fourteen days. Geez. That isn’t what I said. They also gave us pain meds and some to help him not want to move around so much. We didn’t want him to re-injure it. Co-incidentally, our next campsite was scheduled for 10 days. Now we are in Indiana, at Summit Lake State Park, sittin’ around. I am trying to look at it as a gift but not doing too good at that. At this point Jack seems pretty well recovered. But we’re still taking it easy. I working on some writing for the blog and fine tuning some organizing. I am also making the last of my reservations/arrangements for August and September.
