Safe and Sound

I haven’t written in a couple of days so wanted folk to know that we are safe and sound. Settled into our third spot, Greenbelt National Park. We will be here until April 25th. If you would like to send mail the address is

Carrie Overgaard, c/o Greenbelt National Park, 6565 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, Maryland 20770

The park rangers will make sure I get it. Also, let me know so that I can keep and look out for it. It seems as though I will be able to get mail at all the parks in this manner so I will post addresses on a regular basis.

The weather has improved. Not quite so cold. Felt very fortunate to be able to stay inside for a few days, with Janneke Radcliffe. Comfy bed and warm showers, And Jack got lots of love, too. No rain is expected until the weekend. But I think we will be ready.

We have officially started the C & O Tow path trail. Mile zero is at Thompson’s boat house in Washington, DC. We walked about 9 miles on….well, a couple of days ago. Yesterday was moving day. Then today, a short hike, just 3 miles. Both of us are tired. But we’re at mile 12.5, Anglers Access. A very busy part of the river. And some beautiful scenery. I did take pictures and will figure out how to post them. I am a slow learner at this stage in life. And not really fond of tech.

I would say today was a middle of the road day. Hard in some ways but not unexpected trials. I lost my debit card but found it again, at the grocery store. Camping and organizing things and space is getting easier. I am not quite at the homey feel I wanted and thinking that might be too much work on moving days, But I have a wind chime and it is sooo lovely, Nobody seems to bother my things while I am away. That’s good. During the week the campgrounds seem to be quiet but I know they are expecting some larger groups on the weekend.

I am still keeping to myself. Not really interested in reaching out yet but I think I will get there.

I might decide to cook at home tomorrow.

  1. I’m glad you and Jack had some comfy and warm rest days.
Oh no, I didn’t put the c/o part on the address so I hope you got the package!
It will be interesting to hear how the parks are different as well as similar.
