These Knees Were Made For Walking

Just to let you know, I am reading all the comments. And loving every one and everyone.

Jack and I did spend 2 nights in a motel but we are back at the tent now. It was very sunny today and everything seems to have dried out except the fire pit. Having a little trouble getting the fire going.

It’s getting cold now but gonna sit by the fire a little longer. I want to have a roasted marshmallow. I am making a variation of the s’more. Using a Reeses peanut butter cup instead of a Hershey bar.

We walked a trail today. It is becoming increasingly clear that charting my own path isn’t easy. The apps for walking and following a GPS route take Jack and I along roads with no sidewalks. Ain’t gonna work for me or Jack. We both get a little nervous when the cars go speeding by us. So I have decided to just walk trails from TrailLink and Alltrails. It keeps us getting stronger and increases our endurance. And makes us happy.

Jack interrupted this post a couple of days ago and I am just getting back to it. We spent a couple more nights at the campground but decided to come to DC early. I am staying with Janneke Radcliffe, a friend, and she was okay with that.

The last couple of nights were still cold. Whoa, I think I might be a Southern Girl now. I Do Not tolerate that cold anymore. And today it rained all day again. Cold and wet has never been my thing. Another reason to head in early. I am grateful to Janneke, for having me stay and being flexible.
