Aunt Ina

Good Morning.

My aunt Ina is my traveling partner. I really can’t start the trip without her. But she is having some health issues so things have really changed as far as starting the trip goes. We have to address her health concerns first. That being said here are the changes:

Instead of starting in Delaware, as planned, I am going to drive straight out to Washington. We will stay in Olympia until Ina’s health issues are managed. Then we will start from the west coast instead of the east coast.

Our destination on the Washington coast was Kalaloch beach. Here is a link to look at pictures

Now it looks like we will start there. If you haven’t found the link to the Great American Rail Trail here it is again.

You can see that it ends at La Push, Washington. Kalaloch is about 30 miles south of La Push, as the crow flies. Driving is about 50 miles. Don”t know what it will be like walking. ; ) Starting from there is about the same as starting from La Push. Eventually I will get to the Rail Trail and follow it to the east coast.

This has all caused a little stress. Mostly, I am worried about Ina. I am losing a little sleep because of this. Replanning the trip is secondary. I have said all along that the trip will unfold as it is meant to so adjusting to changes is expected. But not starting the trip with Ina is unimaginable.

But I continue to pack, clean the house and get it ready for Airbnb. I have a guest arriving on April 18th so, come hell or high water, I leave that day,
